Push's Trash Talk
Whoa, what a weekend! I went up and down and all around and man are my wheels tired! Of course I'm talking about the Build Your Own Waterslide event. I checked out many of the player-made waterslides in the past few days and I had a great time. There were so many cool team rides. I really liked the ones that had a theme like "Pirates" and "Friendship" and "Dreams". I even saw one room that had an "S.O.S" made out of waterslide pieces! That was a nice touch!
Everyone loved the team rides. Here are some comments from the VMK staff who didn't get to judge this weekend:
"I got a chance to ride a few of the competition rooms ... Fantastic!" "The ride rooms were awesome! I am very glad I do not have to judge these because I don't think I could pick just one winner with so many great ride rooms!"
You know, I was thinking about something when I noticed all the color in the rooms. I've seen lots of rooms with a one color theme, like red or blue or green. But what if there were some rooms that had like, a two color theme? Or a three color theme? Or a rainbow room? Chill rooms and game rooms always look better in color.
Did you all get your water park pins? Even though those pins are no longer sold or given out in VMK, remember there are new pins out just about every weekend. They're always on sale at the Emporium. Just ask Esmeralda and she'll fortune-tell you the way! This month's series of pins have to do with everyone's favorite part of any Disney Resort: THE FOOD! Now you'll be able to collect five of your favorite Disney sweets and treats. Are Churros your favorite? Can't find where to buy the Churro pin? That's because you'll have to win a VMK Host game to get it and finish off your snack stash. Make sure to check out the Calendar to see when games are going to be hosted and read the descriptions of the game rooms to check out which prizes you'll be playing for.
The rest of this month is going to be full of mystery and sur-PRIZES. Get out your thinking caps and magnifying glasses, Dudes! Follow the clues each week and become a VMK Sleuth as you make your way around the virtual park and complete several new quests. Each quest has a brand new prize that will only be available while that quest is open, so get questing quickly! These quests start every Friday in August and run until the end of the month. Oh! And you might want to brush up on your Disney cat, dog, mouse, and mountain trivia just in case! Can't figure out a quest clue? Community Leaders are always there to help. And it's easy to spot them. They have "CL_" before their names and when you click on them, you'll see a button with Sorcerer Mickey's blue hat on their profile.
Good luck, Players! As for me, I'll be rolling around the Kingdom and checking out the progress of all you quest-goers and munching on some summertime Disney treats. Well, at least the leftovers!

Waterslide Team Competition
Hey Players! This event was amazing! 200 teams and over 2,500 of you participated in last weekend's Build Your Own Waterslide team event. All of the rides were so colorful and creative, making it very difficult to choose only one grand prize winner and five runners up for each category. So difficult in fact that we decided to have NINE runners up per category! And here they are!

What's it for? It's a great place for stowing your sword while it's not in use.
History: Sword in the Stone is one of the Disney Classic Movies. It follows the story of King Arthur as a boy. Merlin, a great wizard and Arthur's teacher, help him believe in himself which enables him to free Excalibur from its stone which proves he is the real king.

Guest or Game Rooms that stand out show originality in concept and design. It could be a use of conventional furniture in unconventional ways, the use of a theme or color, or humor. Game rooms that get the nod offer a new game idea or a new twist on an old favorite. In all rooms we look for room owners who welcome everyone with a smile and show a willingness to answer questions about their room.

Scam Alert
Free Swimsuits!
While exploring VMK, you might see rooms claiming to be giving away "Free Swimsuits". These are scam rooms trying to get your hard-earned items by asking you to trade something first without getting anything in return while promising you a free swimsuit once the trade is over. Please do not attempt to trade for a swimsuit. The wetsuit is only an effect visible while you are on a waterslide piece. There is a bug that sometimes allows players to still wear the wetsuit once stepping off a slide but it is only a temporary effect. Please be careful when trading and when in doubt, find a Community Leader for help.

Three favorite pieces of furniture and why?
Narnia Wardrobe — Big old wardrobes always give me the feeling of stepping back in time. After seeing the movie, maybe all that's required is to believe with all your heart and it really might take us someplace magical. Pirate Galleon — Seeing it and the dead man's chest in a beach room always makes me think of the movie and wonder if Captain Jack will pay us a visit. Madame Leota's Crystal Ball — Leota and I have long talks about the future when no one else is around. She's a little shy when I have company, though.
Favorite Public Space?
The Music Game area is one of my favorite public areas. I totally enjoy dancing and talking with everyone and having a chance to listen to their rockin' tunes!
Best VMK moment?
My fondest moments in VMK are when I see members helping other members with their questions, with locating places or things, or with getting a better score in the games. The next time you're wandering around bored with nothing to do, look for someone needing help. It will give you a wonderful feeling to help others, and it can make a huge difference in their lives as well.
Favorite Disney Movie and why?
Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest of course! It totally rocked and I can't wait until the next one comes out. I'm a big time Johnny Depp fan!
Favorite Disney Character?
Goofy is one of my favorite Disney characters simply because he would do just about anything to make someone else happy. Even if it makes him seem like an oddball, he's happy being himself. That is the perfect role model for all of us, don't you think?
What one safety tip would you like to share with our readers?
Be very careful with the information that you give out online — in VMK or in other Internet sites. We care about each and every one of you and do not want anything bad to happen. We know that you want to make friends with others in VMK and we hope you do - but please remember that no matter how much time you spend with them online, you don't really know who they are. It's just way too risky to give out any information that might help them locate you or talk to you in real life. So please stay safe, ok?
