Hey guys, I hope you're digging the new VMK...
Halloween has taken over the site in a big way! Here to tell you more about the latest changes and updates to the game... my pal Yavn!
Yavn Speaks!
This is Halloween!
Big changes and Halloween haunts have found their way to VMK! I hope everyone are enjoying those frightfully fun features we added last week - you can vote in this week's poll and tell us what you liked best! Hopefully you've noticed much better connectivity. We've made changes that should keep the Disconnect Monster from rearing its ugly head - and speaking of monsters, what do you think about the spooky Halloween decorations?
So let's scare up some VMK news shall we?
Movie Rewards
Looking for some furniture that tells everyone you're a media mogul? Well have I got something for you... check out the cool stuff we've created for our friends at Disney Movie Rewards. You can get your very own VMK Home Theater when you purchase Disney DVDs.
Just go to the Disney DVD Movie Rewards website and take a look under the "Screenwriter Collection" for the details and DVD's that apply to the promotion!
Keys Explained!
You've won a key from the Pirates game but just can't figure out what to do with it? Shiver me timbers! Ok, I know there's still some confusion on this whole key business - so I'll try to explain this again... First you need to win 3 games (notice I said games, not rounds) of either Capture The Flag or Last Man Standing in the Pirates Of The Caribbean game. Next take the key and wear it with your pins. Now walk to the Treasure Room (you can reach this room by walking left off the Pirates Of The Caribbean game lobby) and stand in front of the treasure chest that matches your key type. Now just trigger the key from the spell icon or say the magic word! What happens next depends on how lucky you are!
Halloween Quest
This week we're launching our very first Disneyland Resort Halloween Quest. This all new Quest will take you to some spooky places like The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror, Golden Screams Theater and one of my favorite Disney attractions, Haunted Mansion Holiday. You should hurry to the Park though, the Quest will disappear after Halloween.

Tips
Tips, Tricks Hints and How To's A Pirates Revenge!
TIP: Did you know that even after your ship is destroyed in the Pirates of the Caribbean game you can still do damage to your opponent?
After your ship has been sunk, double click on it. Your ship will then explode, sending firey pieces in every direction. Some of these pieces may strike other ships and take your opponents to Davey Jones Locker with you.
Dear Yeti
You've Got Questions, Yeti Has Answers
Dear Yeti,
Is there a Disney attraction that is in a different land in each park?
- PiratePete
Ahoy PiratePete,
Swabbed any good decks lately? Yo ho ho, that joke never gets old! Thanks for the question Pete, it's a perfect mystery to get Halloween month off to a fine start! Tis the Haunted Mansion that be located in a different land in every Disney park! In Disneyland it's located in New Orleans Square, in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, the Mansion is located in Liberty Square, in Tokyo Disneyland it's located in Fantasyland and at Disneyland Paris the Mansion is in Frontierland.
Dear Yeti,
Did Walt Disney ever appear in his own films?
- PhaedraM
Dear PhaedraM,
Walt Disney only appeared in one of his theatrical films - The Reluctant Dragon (1941). In the film, humorist Robert Benchley visits the Disney Studio to sell Walt on the idea of making Kenneth Grahame's book, The Reluctant Dragon into a feature. Benchley explores the Studio making his way through art classes, sound stages and the camera department only to find out when he finally meets Walt in the screening room that the Studio has already made a film of the book!
But Walt's appearance isn't the only one to look for in The Reluctant Dragon. The film also features the very first Goofy How-To cartoon, How to Ride a Horse and some of the maquettes (character models) from early versions of Peter Pan (1953) and Lady and the Tramp (1955).
Do you have a question for the Yeti?
Send it to me through the Contact Us section at the bottom of this page. Be sure to have your VMK registration info with you (the email and information you registered with) and select "Dear Yeti" from the drop down menu. Each week I'll answer two questions and post them here in the Newsletter.

A: Disney's California Adventure® at Disneyland® Resort is the newest. Disney's Animal Kingdom® theme park is the next runner-up.

What makes a Guest Room award-worthy?
Guest or Game Rooms that stand out show originality in concept and design. It could be a use of conventional furniture in unconventional ways, the use of a theme or color, or humor. Game rooms that get the nod offer a new game idea or a new twist on an old favorite.
